Phillies Move On

After a 7-3 loss to the New York Yankees the Philadelphia Phillies held their heads up high and congratulated the Yankees for their 4-2 victory in the 7 game series. Although the Phillies we’re upset about their loss, they showed no regret for the way they played. Instead, they reflected on their season and how hard they worked to get to the World Series.

Following game 6 Wednesday night, starting first baseman Ryan Howard and starting center fielder Shane Victorino were seen joking with one another instead of weeping about their loss. Howard said, “I’m not disappointed. I’m proud of what we’ve done.” Howard explained that although he and his teammates would have loved to bring home a victory, they are still happy with the overall outcome.

Although it was hard for the Phillies to lose to the Yankees in the World Series, the Phillies are proud of their efforts during both the regular and post season. Their love for the game is apparent and the city of Philadelphia recognizes that.
