The popularity Mickey Mouse has dwindled over the past few decades. One of the most recognizable mascots in entertainment history has become more of a corporate symbol than a cartoon character, and Disney has big plans for a drastic re-invention.
The perception of Mickey Mouse will undergo a complete makeover from personality to appearance however he will remain courageous and exciting. The first glimpses of the updated character will be in Epic Mickey, designed for the Nintendo Wii Console. The ominous video game is set in a “cartoon wasteland” and features old and forgotten Disney characters from over the years.
The untarnished brand will be modified as we know it. It is exciting to watch as a new Mickey Mouse is unveiled and see what the minds at Disney create.
