The University of Tampa's local GLTSBA [Gay,Lesbian, Transgender, Straight, Bisexual Alliance] chapter had a social this past Wednesday since the organization is fairly new the social was a way for everyone in the organization to mingle and get to know each other better. Every member brought an item of food/drinks and had the option to dress up if they wanted to. The Exec-Board hosted activities for the members such as "Me too me too", "truth or dare", "Step into the circle" the members mostly enjoyed "Step into the circle:" as this is where you can make a statement and if this statement fits you then you are requested to step into the circle. It is not mandatory to participate in this activity but most members did.
There was some business to be discussed as well at this social. GLTSBA will be having a town hall meeting on Nov 18th 2009 @ 9PM [location:- TBA] and they plan on bringing panelists including faculty, staff and other members from the GLBT community in Tampa. The topics of discussion will be Religion & Homosexuality, Gay Marriage. Everyone is welcome to attend, with the current situation in Maine UTGLTSBA wanted to do something to spread the awareness and get feedback from students. Several different religious organizations will be invited as well.
