Blog Post #3 - Wizards vs. Suns

The Washington Wizards played the Phoenix Suns last night in Washington, bringing the Wizards to their 3rd loss in a row with a score of 102-90. The Wizards had a promising start as the healthy Gilbert Arenas (who would only played 15 games over the last two seasons) sank a 3 pointer in the last seconds of the first quarter outscoring the Suns by 3 putting the score at 29-26.

The momentum changed however in the 2nd quarter when the Suns outscored the Wizards 30-22, putting the Suns up by 5 at halftime. Instead of making a comeback, the Wizards continued to fall more and more behind in the last two quarters, until finally losing 102-90. This is a big loss for the Wizards as it’s their third one in a row, and will need to fight to stay competitive with other teams in the division. At the end of the game, Antawn Jamison, the Wizards captain who’s currently hurt, went off on an angry tangent cursing all his teammates for playing so badly and trying to motivate them to get back on track for the next game.

The two time NBA MVP Steve Nash for the Suns finished the game scoring 22 points, while Gilbert Arenas finished the game scoring 20. The Wizards record now is 2-5 while the Suns are now 6-1.
