Britton's Back!

South Tampa has resurrected the historical Britton 8 Theater after its most recent closure in September 2008.  The outdated theater struggled for years to compete with the stadium seating and reclining chairs offered by newer cinemas.  Even cheap movie tickets couldn't keep the recession out and Britton 8 was forced to close their doors once again.

This time around the theater hopes to capitalize on thinning wallets.  Britton 8 will feature second-run movies for $2 and most concessions for a buck.  On Tuesday movie goers can catch a discount flick for half price.

Britton 8 has also devoted one theater to new-release Indian films.  The theater is targeting the growing South Asian Population along with Bollywood fans.  Tickets for those films are $10.

With a few renovations, dirt cheap prices and the option for Bollywood films the future of Britton 8 is looking optimistic.  Currently the theater is showing 14 films including Funny People, Jennifer's Body, The Time Traveler's Wife, Inglorious Bastards and Harry Potter.
