Ohhh Chelsea- Courtney Murphy

-----A blog of things to eat, read and do in Tampa-----
I finally finished the best books ever! The Chelsea Handler books had me "lizzing"(laughing and wizzing) the whole way through.
Her first book My Horizontal Life- a Collection of One Night Stands is as appalling as it is funny. Handler’s way of describing her conquest is the same as a 12 year old boy. Giddy with each one night stand disscussing it as a new badge, something to tell all her friends after it has occured. She, as her favorite of men describe, es loco; her writing spills from page to page describing each embarrassing moment as if it we to appear on American Pie.
The second book Are You There Vodka It's Me Chelsea, does not fall short of its sister. The book grabs you from the beginning shaking you violently with loud outburst of laughter. For example, I was reading in Starbucks, as Chelsea describes her time in jail for being caught with a fake ID. Chelsea was told to bend over and spread wide. She, of course, decided this would be a perfect opportunity for conversation and ask the guard what she was expecting to find? The guard said that one time she found a game boy. Chelsea- with batteries? Guard- Yes! She made a joke that no one laugh at (still being naked) "Talk about junk in your trunk." They might have not laughed, but I was crying, laughing and clutching my book as I ran to the bathroom; looking like I just escaped from the nut house.
I recommend very highly both books and also following with her show Chelsea Lately on E. I also advise to read these books where no one can hear you; this is NOT a library book.http://www.chelseahandler.org/
