Erickson, Alexa- restaurant review

Recently, my vegetarian friend made me walk around downtown Tampa wearing a scarf made of pork chops and a purse made of beef for a documentary called "Fashion Kills" for her art class.
What was my incentive to do such a mortifying and downright gross favor? She took me out to dinner after! Located on Davis Island, Estela's Mexican Restaurant was a great choice by my animal-loving friend, Monica.
On a warm, breezy afternoon, we took the option of siting outside at Estela's. Of course it was happy hour, so FOUR frozen margaritas ended up at our table all at once. Not too sweet and with just enough tequila, the margs were made just to my liking. Naturally, my meat-eating self ordered the "Pollo Ranchero," a large, plate-sized chicken breast topped with spicy ranchero sauce and cheese for $11.95. To balance the meal, the dish came with rice and a guacamole salad. I couldn't believe it, but I ate the WHOLE plate and washed it down with the second margarita!
Since I love Mexican food and have been to many restaurants both authentic and not, I think I'm a fairly good judger of authentic mexican food and Estela's fits in the category. It was easy to judge this from the very beginning, when I couldn't understand ONE of the waiters who came over to our table. I asked them to repeat what they were asking or explaining many times, but they ended up pointing and so did I.
