Corey Smith, Country Straight Out the Bottle

Corey Smith is a somewhat new country artist who’s begun to bloom in the county scene recently, his approach to country is a bit rougher around the edges then tradition country super stars though. Smiths songs sound more like the story of an outlaw on the run, or a drunken frat boy then most country ballads, Just check out his hit “F--- the PO, PO” which is a song that seems to be about a run in that Smith might have had with the police, or “Drinkin’ Again” a twang type ballad about getting started on another weekend of what seems to be pretty heavy drinking.

All this coming from a 32 year old father from Atlanta, Georgia, his music sound to be a new age mix of Lynyrd Skynyrd, acoustic melodies, and a dash of grunge. His early work are songs that you will be sure to be hearing college students singing along to for ages, Smith’s first album “Undertones” captures the atmosphere of fun and free loving music geared toward a crowd not worrying much about tomorrow and more concerned with filling their bellies with alcohol and just drinking the night away with good friends.

With the release of Smith’s new album “Keeping Up with the Joneses” it seems Smith has hit the big time with air time on CMT.com and other massive country music outlet. “Keeping Up with the Joneses” shows how Smith has begun to hone his skills, master his craft and truly matured as a musician, it’s music may not have the same allure to younger generations as his first CDs but it will earn his a place on the country countdown charts without a doubt.
